What is the name of this movie?

I remember a movie from a long time ago, but I can't remember its name. I think a couple kids go into this bad lady's house. She has a huge stash of coins in the basement and this big lug of a guy with her. The kids get trapped in the house, hiding in the walls with this scruffy kid whose tongue was cut, I think, by the lady. There may also be hoards of people in the basement, but that part I'm fuzzy about. I know this is really vague, but maybe one of you guys knows what I'm talking about?
