Sore throat remedies please!?

Not honey tea, I don't like that. I took medicine, ate throat drops, I can't stand this, my throat is KILLING me, I can't barely move because it hurts so bad. I've been to the doctor, it's just parainfluenza but my throat has never hurt this bad. I'm afraid to go to sleep because its so severe when I wake up. Please help me!
