What do you think of the World's Ugliest Dog contest?

i personally think its cruel. i was looking thru yahoo's top page story on it and in all the pictures the dogs look sick. they are scruffy, skinny, and unkept. the reason their tongues stick out is because they've lost the teeth to hold them in, most likely from being hit in the mouth if abused. what if we held a World's Ugliest Human contest? that would be like cruel and unusual punishment. what are your takes on this dog contest?
